SUMMARY:Eleventh International Workshop on  Exploring Modeling Methods in S
 ystems Analysis and Design
DESCRIPTION:The field of information systems analysis and design includes n
 umerous modeling methods and notations (e.g. ER, ORM, UML, DFDs, BPMN, EPC)
 , that are typically evolving. Even with some attempts to standardize (e.g.
  UML for object-oriented design), new modeling methods are constantly being
  introduced, many of which differ only marginally from existing approaches.
  These ongoing changes significantly impact the way information systems are
  being analyzed and designed in practice.\n\nThis workshop focuses on explo
 ring, evaluating, and enhancing current information modeling methods and me
 thodologies. Though the need for such studies is well recognized, there is 
 a paucity of such research in the literature. The objective of EMMSAD’06 is
  to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in modelin
 g methods in systems analysis and design to meet, and exchange research ide
 as and results. It also provides the participants an opportunity to present
  their research papers and experience reports, and to take part in open dis
 cussions. EMMSAD’06 is the eleventh in a very successful series of EMMSAD w
 orkshops, previously held in Heraklion, Barcelona, Pisa, Heidelberg, Stockh
 olm, Interlaken, Toronto, Velden, Riga and Porto.  \n\nThis workshop will p
 rovide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share and discuss re
 search methodologies and results. The focus of the workshop is on theoretic
 al, empirical or case-based exploration of modeling methods and methodologi
 es.  The topics of interest include modeling (in a system analysis and desi
 gn context) of systems in general:\n\n 	Modeling languages 	The act of mode
 ling 	The reasons for modeling and their impact on the modeling languages a
 nd processes 	Experiences in modeling 	Theoretical/philosophical foundation
 s of modeling \n\n\n\nand/or specific strategies for modeling, including (b
